Nyheter
- 261006: Here are the results for the Nordic
ranking 2006 and the Finnish
ranking 2006.
- 011006: Airisto day 2. The last racing day of the season was
rainy, with moderate winds from S. We did three excellent starts during
the day and had good upwind speed. Downwind speed was the problem today,
we suspected that it is our old gennaker that needs to be updated. "The
Kaiser", USA-505 was the boat to watch today, and we managed to
keep her behind until the last upwind leg to the finish. They got a
bit better angle to the finish line and crossed it just a few seconds
before us. This costed us the 6th place with just one point. Anyway,
nice racing today, and now its time to pack things together for the
winter.
- 300906: Airisto day 1. Extremely close racing the whole day.
The day started in extremely tricky conditions, light wind with massive
wind shifts. Mazda took the first pole of the day, but every team was
very close to each other on every leg. The other two races had different
winners so everything is open for tomorrow. Our series was 5,8,6,6 out
of 8 participants, not good, not bad... The last day of season 2006
is tomorrow.
- 240906: Day 2 in Tallin. A bit more wind today. This suited
the team much better and after a disaster 1st race we managed to take
positions in the middle of the fleet. Mr TT was again the best sailor
with wins in all 7 races, and a new Estonian Champion. Congratulations
from Lainisalo Sailing Team. Though our better positions today we where
left on the last place, but received silver medal in the Nordic Ranking.
One ranking to go yet, in Airisto next weekend.
- 230906: 1st day of the Estonian Championships in Tallinn. Excellent
conditions in light winds and sunshine. 13 teams from all of the Nordic
countries are present; FIN, EST and one team from both Norway an Sweden,
great! A bit disappointed team took ashore in the evening with one BFQ
and a couple of 360ees in different races. Top shores are difficult
to get with bad luck and wrong tactical decisions. Three races sheduled
for sunday and the need for better positions is high. Stay tuned for
more info tomorrow.
- 300806: Team Lainisalo's tactics and jib trim man Martin
Finell was elected to the IMCA Executive Committee at the
IMCA World Council held in Hyeres, France. Martin brings extensive racing
experience and dedication to forwarding Class activities to the Executive
Committee.
- 280806: Ranking 5 last weekend in Espoo showed that more practice
is required. The upwind speed seemed to be OK in moderate conditions
but downwind speed in light created many wrinkles in the crew foreheads.
Some maneuver practice as well on the down wind mark, we lost quite
many valuable positions during the regatta, just around the down wind
buoy. FIN-529 took a very important victory, and has the egde for ranking
victory when two event remains. We ended up 6st even though we had the
5th in our pocket, but our protest did not go through. Tallinn next...
- 130806: 3rd and last day in Hankö. Heavy winds up to 24
knots with choppy sea, tides and currents... Not what we have been used
to. NOR-506 Lek took a nice victory in the difficult conditions. We
secured our 21st place, but the last races were disasterous. Nice to
have been here anyhow, the Norwegians have a very strong M24 fleet and
we will be back next year.
- 120806: 2nd day at Hankö. More wind today. The team had
some problems finding enough speed compared to the other competitors
and finished in the end of the fleet. Tricky wind shifts with sudden
gusts during all 4 races. Currently 21st with 3 races to go.
- 110806: 1st race day at Hankö. The day started in excellent
conditions with light winds from E. The team had a very good start and
managed to catch the tricky wind shifts on the first upwind leg. On
the second upwind the wind turned 180 degrees and calmed down to almost
nothing. The last downwind became an upwind leg and the race officials
took everybody into finish at the down wind gate. We managed to catch
a 9th place on a fleet of 26. Stay tuned for more info tomorrow.
- 080806: Already 25 teams entered to the Norwegian Championships.
Mostly Norwegians, but also Swedes, Danes and the Lainisalo Sailing
Team from Finland. Flight departs at Thursday morning. The weather forecast
promises light winds, again.
- 010806: Nordic Championships in Mariehamn showed that there
is definitively something wrong with the climate over here. Three days
of sailing and only five races were accomplished because of no wind.
It was great to see some other nationalities here as well. One from
Sweden and Norway showed up and the Swedes managed to nail one race
over all. Toni Toniste was again the best Melges24 helmsman and took
a nice victory. We had our moments in the race but it was not enough.
The team is now looking forward competing against the Norwegians in
the Norwegian Championships in Hankö, Norway. Stay tuned.
- 050706: Another light wind regatta. The racing committee sends
everybody out on the Ytterskär race course. Toni Toniste from Estonia
took again a fascinating win and the Lainisalo guys were left far behind.
The team hopes to get some more wind in the Nordic championships races
in Mariehamn.
- 300506: Positive signs for the team. During Suunto cup last
weekend we felt that our boat speed eventually have improved. Although
the total result from the race was not so good, the team looks forward
to the next race. Helsinki Regatta will be sailed in the beginning of
July.
- 150506: Ranking 1, a disappointment for the team. Hard
winds on Saturday and light on Sunday made it difficult to get 100%
power out of the new sails. Still tuning to do. Ranking 2 in
Helsinki next weekend. Results from Ranking 1 on www.melges24.fi
- 080506: Season’s first ranking event is coming up next weekend
in Naantali. The crew have been out testing and trimming during Saturday,
and hard training sessions are scheduled for the following days. On
Thursday the boat will be packed together for departure to Naantali
on Friday. Stay tuned for more information soon.
- 120206: Lainisalo Sailing Team FIN-319 at Helsinki Boat show.
The painted mast looked like new along with the polished boat. A nice
eye catcher. Welcome to booth 4c1.
- 020206: Race calendar 2006 updated!
- 020106: Lainisalo Sailing Team participates in the Helsinki
Boat Show BOAT-06 the 11-19th of February. You will find us at booth
4c1 together with the Finnish Melges 24 class association. Welcome!
- 281205: Lainisalo Sailing Team wishes everyone a Happy New
Year 2006.
- 121105: New main and jib purchased from Team Suunto. These
will give this ambitious team more speed than ever. Watch out
segling Suunto Cup
därpå följande vecka i Helsingfors.
